The film director Salvador Calvo will receive the ‘Boquerón de Plata’ award in Rincon de la Victoria
The Mayor of Rincón de la Victoria announced that he is awarding the prize to the filmmaker for his long professional career in film and television, as well as his links with the municipality. Salvador Calvo attends the Goya Gala next Saturday with 13 nominations for the film ‘Adú’.
The Mayor of Rincon de la Victoria, Francisco Salado (PP), announced today that the second ‘Boquerón de Plata’ award will be presented this year to the Spanish film director, Salvador Calvo.
The alderman himself was in charge of communicating this recognition, while the councillor for Tourism, Antonio José Martín (PP) informed personally to the filmmaker, who is currently preparing for the 35th edition of the Goya Awards next Saturday in the capital of Malaga, where he is the favourite with 13 nominations, including best film for ‘Adú’. Salado has highlighted Calvo’s “intense and extensive career in the field of television and film, and also his links with our municipality, so we have decided to give him this award in recognition of his personal and professional career while highlighting his relations with Rincon de la Victoria”.
For his part, Salvador Calvo expressed his gratitude to Rincon de la Victoria for this award, which was also received last year by the Malaga actor, Salva Reina. The Councillor for Tourism of Rincón de la Victoria has highlighted the enormous value of Salvador Calvo’s acceptance of this appointment. “Undoubtedly, the ‘Silver Boquerón’ is growing in importance despite its young age, only two editions. After giving the award to Salva Reina in 2020, we continue to highlight the work of Culture and its link to Rincón de la Victoria and this recognition will bring relevance to our municipality throughout Spain”.
The ‘Boquerón de Plata’ award was created with the idea of highlighting and extolling the professional and human work of people in Culture, Sport, Gastronomy or society in general who have a relationship with Rincón de la Victoria. Martín informed that the award ceremony is expected to take place in May, within the framework of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), after being postponed last January due to the pandemic. Finally, the mayor took the opportunity to congratulate and wish Salvador Calvo, the director of the film with the most nominations for the 2021 Goya Awards, the best of luck.
