Rincón de la Victoria has two watchtowers. These are very typical constructions throughout the province of Malaga, with military origins, and date back to the 14th century. One is located in Torre de Benagalbón and the other in the area of El Cantal, some 30 metres above the sea. Particularly attractive are the sunrises and sunsets from the latter, which offer magical views.

Both constructions had the function of guarding the sea to alert nearby fortresses of pirate raids by means of smoke by day and bonfires by night.
