Recitales de Otoño Rincón de la Victoria Capital of Flamenco come to our town this month of November from the hand of Peña El Piyayo. During every Friday in November, the head office of this emblematic peña will host up to five recitals, always at 10:00PM. There will be space for acclaimed artists and young performers who aim high in the flamenco world. This 2018 appointment arrives with a lot of expectation as it is the 30th edition.

José Carpio “El Mijita de Jerez” along with Luis “El Salao” on guitar will open this 2018 edition on Friday 2nd. Mari Peña and Antonio Moya will be the ones who fill the stage on Friday 9th. One week later, on Friday 16th, the dancer Moises Navarro from Málaga, El Charro’s son, will show his skills at Peña El Piyayo. Another artist from the province, “Chato de Vélez” will sing along with Antonio Soto Arjona on Friday 23rd. The last Friday is reserved for a young artist but with a huge projection: Manuel de la Tomasa will sing along with Antonio Moya’s guitar on Friday 30th.

Likewise, the offer is completed with two flamenco dinners. As an appetiser, this Friday October 26th, Peña El Piyayo celebrates Día del Socio (Members Day) by singing and a touch of members of the organization. This year, the honored member who is awarded with the gold badge is Luis Perea. As closure, on Friday December 7th, the traditional flamenco dinner will be enlivened with Pepe “El Boleco” as singer and Antonio García as guitarist.

This year, the poster used for this culture meeting is a work made by artist Paco Alonso, who would paint the picture in 1992 for Peña El Piyayo.
