The Cueva del Tesoro in Rincon de la Victoria has doubled the number of visits during the Pilar holiday weekend with 1,105 people, from the 10th to 12nd of October, compared to the same period last year, according to the Councillor for Tourism, Antonio José Martín (PP).
The progressive decrease in the level of incidence with the corresponding relaxation of control and health security measures due to the pandemic, “has contributed significantly to this increase during the long weekend and during the last month, which has gone from 2,701 in 2020 to 4,892 people from the 21st September to date,” said the Mayor, who assures that “this figure will continue to increase motivated by the promotional activities that we continue to develop.
The Mayor of Rincon de la Victoria, Francisco Salado (PP), has valued these figures very positively, assuring that “we will continue to increase them by promoting this natural and unique heritage in Europe (La Cueva del Tesoro) to consolidate our position as a tourist and cultural destination”.
In addition, the councilman explained, the number of visits recorded this summer is also higher than in the previous summer season, growing by almost 40 percent from June to September.
The registered visits are mainly from Spanish tourism, with an increase in the number of German visitors. “We continue to maintain the Spanish tourist as the main visitor. It should be noted that we have observed a greater presence of German visitors because the more flexibility of entries and exits from the country,” he declared.
In addition, “the implementation of the on-line ticketing system to visit the Cueva del Tesoro has boosted the increase in visits and improved control over the registration of tickets,” said Martín. Tickets must be booked in advance.
Through our portal www.turismoenrincon.es, users can purchase their tickets individually or for groups by credit card, allowing them to consult the tickets purchased.
