Rincón de la Victoria celebrates one of its most important dates of the year during this month of July. On the occasion of Virgen del Carmen festivities, this maritime city organizes its fair from July 12th to 16th, 2019.
As in previous years, good music, gastronomy and activities for children will play a leading role along with the shoreline procession that will take place on Tuesday, July 16th. It is important to mention that this year this procession reaches its 100th anniversary from the very first procession of Virgen del Carmen in Rincón de la Victoria.
The Fair will begin on Friday, July 12th, starting at 10:00PM with an opening speech performed by the monologist, Álvaro Carrero, at Plaza Al-Ándalus. The Municipal Band of Music will close the opening ceremony. La Caseta Municipal will host Barón Rojo concert to open the Night Fair.
This year, Marengo de Honor 2019 has been offered to Joaquín Cervantes Pastor and the act will take place at Salón de Plenos of the Town Hall on Saturday July 13th at 12:00PM.
Some of the first activities of the Fair will start on Saturday July 13th at Plaza Al-Andalus. Starting at 11:00AM, the children’s parade will begin escorted by charanga (brass band) Sí o Ké. There will also be a dance exhibition performed by School of Fit Kid Dance Gym Victory at 13:30PM following with the election of Queen and King (infant category). The group IPOP and the party of the foam will also take place.
During the night, the Fair will be held at Caseta Municipal in the area of Huerta Julián starting at 22:00PM with the concert of the local group Los Turistas, the election of Queen and Mister of the Fair (adult category) and the Elixir party.
On Sunday, the fair will continue from 12:00PM with a dancing exhibition by the Municipal School of Verdiales accompanied by Panda 1ª Verdiales de Benagalbón and a meeting of choirs and castanets. In addition, the traditional Horse Ride will be held from 12:00PM to 19:00PM at Avenida del Mediterráneo. At night, the final of Copla In Memoria Marifé de Triana Contest organized by the Peña El Piyayo will take place at Caseta Municipal.
Monday 15th will begin at children’s area from 12:00PM and will continue with the exhibition of the Municipal School of Sports and Dances and Anímate A Bailar Association. In addition to this, there will be a performance of the Marengo group and also the traditional senior lunch. The main performance of the Night Fair is played by the Spanish rock group Seguridad Social at 11:30PM in+ Caseta Municipal.
The shoreline processions will be held on Tuesday 16th, with the first departure from La Cala del Moral at 07:30PM, and Rincón de la Victoria at 08:30PM. As we have said before, this year coincides with the 100th anniversary of Hermandad de la Virgen del Carmen. Hermanos Ortigosa will be in charge of the closing.
