Rincón de la Victoria proves to be a preferential destination at the tourist level in the field of sport, this time they have been the selections of Spain and France that choose our municipality for the preparation of HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series 2022, the Rugby World Series Seven.
Both teams have chosen Rincon de la Victoria to prepare for this competition and in part it is thanks for having one of the best climates in Europe. In addition to using manuel Becerra’s rugby facilities, they will spend the night in the municipality.
The mayor of Rincón de la Victoria, Francisco Salado (PP), explained that “the presence of national teams of the highest level responds to the work that the City Council has been doing in recent years so that Rincón de la Victoria is also a destination for sports tourism”.
“The work of recent years in this regard continues to bear fruit, positioning Rincón de la Victoria as a preferred destination in sports tourism” , adds Salado.
In addition, the councilor has made reference to the facilities of the Manuel Becerra sports complex “as unique in the province and Andalusia for the quality of the same and location, which are valued and claimed by international rugby teams ”.
Also the councilor wanted to value the important work done with the business fabric “which is key in this regard. And, on this occasion, it comes from the hand of Añoreta Resort and Hotel FAY Victoria Beach (Elimar) so that the two teams have chosen our municipality.”
In addition, it is important to say that “they will not be the only ones because we are receiving other requests to use our facilities as the Canadian national team.”
For his part, the Councilor for Sports, Antonio José Martín has reported that throughout this week the teams are training or in the morning and afternoon before the competition.”
