The great gastronomic festival ‘Sabor a Málaga’ will fill up Rincón de la Victoria with products from the region this weekend, from Friday, May 3rd, until Sunday, May 5th. This gastronomic event presents local products in a market where there will also be workshops, tastings and cooking demonstrations live will take place at Plaza de la Constitución from 12:00PM to 10:00PM.

The participants come from five productive regions of the province of Málaga, which will bring to the municipality a wide and varied representation of products, such as goat cheese from Málaga, sausages and meat products, wines from the DO ‘Málaga’ and ‘Sierras de Málaga‘, extra-virgin olive oil, artisan confectionery, typical sweets and appetizers. Also, you will find subtropical products of the Axarquía like avocados and mangos, derivatives from jam and gin, honey, bread and craft beers.

Festival program

The Gastronomic Festival ‘Sabor a Málaga’ will start this Friday, May 3rd, starting at 12:30PM. After the inauguration, during noon, the showcookings ‘Sabores de la Axarquía’ by Álvaro Saura and Empanadas tradicionales con acento malagueño by Juan Manuel Moreno will be held. Tastings of sweet wines, gins and cocktails made from different types of wines will be carried out from 4:00PM, as well as a sample of products from ‘la Cabra malagueña’. This first day will end with a concert by Alcobendas Band starting at 8:00PM.

Saturday’s program will start at 1:00PM with craft beer samplings from Málaga and tasting of aoves (olives) and Málaga wines. In addition, the showcookings of chef Carlos Torres on japo-malagueña cuisine and Juan Manuel Moreno’s sweet snack of products from Málaga will also be held. In addition to this, a cocktail workshop will also take place putting the mango as a protagonist. And last but not least, the musical group Los Electroduendes will put the musical note in the afternoon starting at 6:00PM.

The last day of the fair will start at 1:00PM until 10:00PM. A sample of sausages from Málaga will be held at 1:00PM, followed by a tasting of goat cheeses also from Málaga. Besides, a showcooking taught by Juan Manuel Moreno about healthy bread will be held. Starting at 4:00PM, there will be a gins after-work and a show of moringa, an important plant due to its antioxidant and antimicrobial functions.

This county festival of Rincón de la Victoria will be the first out of five that ‘Sabor a Málaga’ will celebrate throughout 2019. The opening will take place on Friday, May 3rd at 12:30PM.
