The rescue, lifeguard, prevention and surveillance service on the beaches is now activated from 12:00 to 20:00 hours, Monday to Sunday.

From Monday the 15th, beach users can use the new APP to control the capacity in real time. The same with the public showers and toilets, where daily cleaning has been reinforced, assigning one person with cleaning and disinfection tasks per toilet.

This gives the green light to the summer season with the opening of all public services distributed among the four beaches of the coast. As usual, the rescue, first aid, prevention and surveillance service has been set up today to guarantee safety, assistance to bathers as well as more control from the watchtowers and on the beach.

The mechanism is composed of a coordinator and 17 lifeguards distributed among vehicles, watchtowers, and bicycles.

This lifeguard service is now joined by 58 assistants assigned by the Junta de Andalucía to the beaches of Rincón de la Victoria. These will carry out information tasks regarding access control and beach capacity, they will ensure compliance with the measures contained in the City Council’s contingency plan, and they will inform visitors who access the beach of the warnings and communications made by the competent departments in matters of emergencies and civil protection.

Another of the services that is now in operation is the system of control of occupation for the beaches of the municipality, that has been developed by the public company Turismo y Planificación Costa del Sol, dependent on the Diputación de Málaga, and the University of Málaga, through the Chair of Coastal Sciences Costa del Sol and the research group Edanya. This system, available on the website www.aforocostadelsol.es, and also as a mobile application on the Android (Play Store) and Apple (iOS) platforms, offers the possibility of checking the occupation of all the beaches on the Costa del Sol, from any municipality, thus helping to activate mobility between the different population centres on the coast of Malaga.

In addition, from Monday to Sunday, two boats are in charge of the service of cleaning the surface waters of the coast of the municipality. The task is to locate and collect floating and semi-floating solid waste (dead fish, plastics, packaging, jellyfish, etc), as well as the collection amd treattment of waste and treatment, from the beaches of La Cala del Moral to Los Rubios from 10.00 to 18.00 hours.
