Rincón de la Victoria is part of a pioneering project of Covid-Free beaches created by Turismo Costa del Sol, a project so that both citizens and the competent authority can know the capacity of the beaches in real time as well as the preventive measures in each of them.
Based on geographic information systems, appropriate decisions can be taken to regulate the capacity by knowing the level of saturation of each beach. Thanks to this, it is possible to opt for open the access to another one, or even allow the authority to close those that are at full capacity.
Torremolinos will be the other pilot municipality where this action plan will start to be implemented.
In this way, the tourist destination adapts to the reality caused by the Covid-19, something essential to return to the “new normality”, after the period of confinement, with all the guarantees.
Furthermore, the model will be replicable for other public spaces.
