Rincon de la Victoria will celebrate on Sunday 26th December the IX San Silvestre and Solidarity Kilometre for the benefit of the Rincon Contigo Association, according to the Councillor for Sports, Antonio Jose Martín (PP).

The sporting events, organised in collaboration with clubs in the municipality, will start at the Paseo Maritimo in the town, near the Tourist Office at 12:00 noon.
The first race to be held will be the Kilometre Solidarity Run, open to people of all ages and regardless of their physical condition, which has a distance of 500 metres round trip. This will be followed by the 5 kilometre San Silvestre Popular Race, which will reach La Sala Mare Nostrum in La Cala del Moral to return to the finish line located at the starting point of the race.
“Last year this event could not be held due to the pandemic, so we hope to have a high participation in this edition to raise funds for the group that serves families in emergency situations in the municipality,” said the mayor.

In addition, “this event is characterised by its festive Christmas atmosphere which will be accompanied by prizes for the best fancy dress costumes, a prize draw and surprises for the participants”, says the councillor, who explains that “as is now tradition, runners can participate in fancy dress as individuals or as a group. There will be trophies for the first three in each category and prizes for the best individual and collective fancy dress costume, as well as medals for the youngest participants”.

The Mayor of Rincon de la Victoria, Francisco Salado (PP), highlighted “the solidarity and family nature of the day, in which the people of Rincon de la Victoria participate for a good cause: to support the important work carried out by the Rincon Contigo Association”.

Likewise, Salado has launched an invitation to participate “in an event framed within the Christmas festivities to enjoy with the family in a sporting atmosphere”.
Those interested in taking part can register and purchase their bib number for 3 euros via the website www.dorsalchip.es or on the day of the event from 10.00 to 11.30 am. The bibs can be collected at Triaword on 22 and 23 December or on the day of the race.

The bib is free for children under 3 years old and people with disabilities.
