From the Pavilion 5 stand of Turismo Costa del Sol of Andalusia and within the framework of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), Rincon de la Victoria and Anoreta Resort have presented today the ALPS Tour Andalusia 2021, which will be hosted by the municipality from the 6th to the 11th of September.
The Mayor of Rincon de la Victoria, Francisco Salado (PP), the Councillor of Tourism, Antonio José Martín (PP), the CEO of Anoreta Resort, Angel Acha, and the President of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation, Antonio José Martínez, announced the international event which will attract 126 professionals from more than 15 countries in a 54-hole Stroke Play format with 40,000 euros in awards.
Salado said that “we are delighted to host in the province, and in our municipality, this circuit which is the prelude to professional golfers”. “This is a firm commitment to continue hosting top-level sporting events. A perfect ally when it comes to attracting tourism to our province”.
In addition, the councillor assured that “golf is one of the most important sectors as tourist destination, so in recent years we have developed a firm commitment to sports tourism”.
Salado also explained that “hosting this event also means an important international media projection supported by the Royal Spanish Golf Federation to reach more than 600 media outlets”.
Angel Acha, expressed his satisfaction “for hosting one of the most prestigious golf competitions in the world in our facilities. The binomial Rincon de la Victoria-Anoreta Resort joins forces to bring the best golf in Europe to La Axarquia”.
Also the Councillor for Sports, Antonio José Martín (PP) has emphasized the interest of the event as the third level of the European Tour, the previous phase to the Challenge Tour “which allows young professionals to gain experience for a future of international competitions, and even more so to be held in Rincon de la Victoria for the first time”.
The ALPS Tour celebrates its twentieth edition this year and will only have two tournaments in our country: in July in Las Pinaillas, Albacete, and in September the ALPS of Andalusia at Anoreta Resort, Malaga.
