Today is one of those sad days that bring news that we never want to hear, Georgie Dann left us, one of our most beloved and international neighbours who with his rhythms made dance several generations all over the planet.
We want to remember the King of the Summer Song on his own merits with an anecdote that perhaps few know, his song El Chiringuito was born one summer in his home town of Rincon de la Victoria.

The musician was one of the great icons of the light song during the 70s and 80s, for more than twenty years he brightened up the summers of millions of people with his songs.
Georges Mayer Dahan was born in Paris on 14 January 1940 into a family of musicians and artists. For nine years he studied at the Conservatoire in his native city, spezialed in the clarinet, although he also played the saxophone and accordion.

After graduating in teaching, he became a teacher and began to compose humorous songs with his pupils, which is how he unwittingly made the leap to composition and song.

El Casatschock in 1969 was his first hit, followed by dozens of party songs such as La Barbacoa, El Bimbo, Macumba, Carnaval or the aforementioned Chiringuito.
In love with the Costa del Sol and its summers, Georgie Dann chose Rincon de la Victoria (Nueva Cala) to establish his summer residence and enjoy unforgettable summer days with his family.
Today his legacy is eternal, and wherever there is a verbena, sardine skewers, barbecue, good vibes and happiness, there will always be a song by Georgie Dann.
