III Cycle of Conferences on Prehistoric Caves

Rincon de la Victoria will host the III Cycle of Conferences on Prehistoric Caves, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the tourist opening of the Cueva del Tesoro.

The lectures will be held every Friday of the month of November from the 8th at 19.00 hours in the Cueva del Tesoro with researchers and professionals of scientific dissemination.

Registration is free and can be made until full capacity is reached on our website, from November 1 at 12:00 noon.

Program of the III Cycle of Conferences on Prehistoric Caves

November 8: “Archaeology of Death: theoretical-methodological framework”, given by José Ramos Muñoz; followed by “Caves as funerary deposits from the Neolithic onwards: the case of Cueva de Ardales”, by Pedro Cantalejo Duarte and María del Mar Espejo Herrerías.

November 15: “The relationship between death, caves, dolmens and rock art: the case of the Cueva de la Victoria and its Malaga context”, by Luis-Efrén Fernández Rodríguez.

November 22: “Other spaces for death during the Prehistory of the South of the Iberian Peninsula”, with Serafín Becerra Martín and Eduardo Vijande Vila.

November 29th: “The archaeology of death in the Prehistory of the province of Málaga: Post Megalithism, the heirs of the Bronze Age”, given by José Suárez Padilla.
