The December Kalends are coming to Villa Antiopa. This Saturday 28th of December you will be able to know in depth ‘The Saturnalia’ one of the most important Roman festivities.
The Saturnales (in Latin Saturnalia) were an important Roman festival. The festival was celebrated with a sacrifice in the Temple of Saturn in the Roman Forum and a public banquet, followed by the exchange of gifts, continuous feasting, and a carnival atmosphere in which there was a relaxation of social norms. The poet Catullus called it ‘the best of days’.
The December Kalends will be held on Saturdays 7, 14, 21 and 28 December, from 17:00 to 18:00.
The visit to Villa Antiopa is free with the purchase of a ticket. Reservations must be made by email to villa_antiopa@eulen.com. In the email you must indicate: Full name, telephone number and number of tickets (maximum 3 per person).
