Pedro Cantalejo will be awarded with a recognition on August 28th as commemoration of the 190th anniversary of the formation of Rincón de la Victoria's first town hall, due to his relation to the town in the areas of research and dissemination of the prehistoric local patrimony, specially that linked to Rincón de la Victoria's El Cantal Caves.

The main event will take place in Málaga's Folklore Studies Centre at 20:30.

As it is the case every year, the Town Hall's patio will feature an exhibition showcasing old pictures of the town. This collection will offer a look to the past of Rincón de la Victoria and its many town centres, including Benagalbón, in order to strengthen the historical value of the local identity.

The anniversary event celebrating the formation of the Town Hall is one of the most special days in the institutional and cultural calendar of the town. This event will be celebrated for a fourth consecutive year in order to remember a special, historical event, when the first Town hall of Benagalbón was created in 1835, which originated from the publication of Miguel Alba's research, a local historian who, along with members of Círculo Cultural Bezmiliana (Bezmiliana Cultural Circle) and Rincón de la Victoria's Town hall created the celebration of this event.
