Torre de Benagalbón's beaches will host on Saturday May 17th the first race of the 13th edition of the Jábega boats League Pepe Almoguera Cup, organised by Diputación Provincial de Málaga (Málaga's County Council).

This will be the first of the three events that will take place in Rincón de la Victoria and it will be the first of the 12 happening throughout the coasts of Málaga.

This thirteenth edition will feature eleven clubs from all of Málaga: Club de Remo Faro de Torre del Mar, Remo Rincón, Club de Remo La Cala del Moral, Club Deportivo Remo La Araña, Club Deportivo La Espaílla, Club Deportivo Remo Pedregalejo, Club Deportivo Remo Malagueño, Club Deportivo Remo de Torremolinos, Club Deportivo Remo La Carihuela , Club de Remo y Pala Tradicional Torrebermeja and, making its debut, the Club de Remo IES El Palo, making a grand total of 52 teams and an average of 350 rowers per regatta.

This event will mark the beggining of every regattas of the Diputación Grand Prix which allows this League to take place. It is organised by the Asociación del Remo Tradicional (Traditional Rowing Association) along with every club which is part of it and it is supported by Diputación de Málaga and towns partipating.

Rincón de la Victoria is one of the most important locations for the event as three races take place here. Following Torre de Benagalbón's this saturday, the La Cala del Moral G.P. will take place on June 28th and the Rincón de la Victoria G.P. will be held on July 12th.

This event will be held on a headland near the beach where the old train station is located and the awards ceremony is expected to happen around 13:30.
